8 Months & Thanksgiving

For once we are in a month without any huge milestones. You have been alive about the same time that you were inside my belly. I am okay with that. Can slow your grow just a little bit though? You are trying to crawl but you just don't have the strength or coordination for that. You are starting to grown out of your bottles. Some nights you will take a bottle and rock you, other nights you just stretch out in my arms until I get the hint that you just want to lay down in your bed alone. 12 hours a night is normal for you. We put you to bed around 7 and during the week I wake you up at 6:30 but on the weekends you push towards waking up at 8 or 8:30. No complaints here. You have no problems with eating or drinking out of a sippy cup. You eat a serving of rice and one jar of food every three hours. And if you are SUPER lucky we will give you a drink of our tea. It is your favorite.

We had a big month with a big first. Your 1st Thanksgiving!! Although you didn't get to enjoy the food you did get to enjoy all the attention you could ever want from your Mommy, Daddy, Nana, Papa, Uncle Andrew, Great-Grandmother Faye & Great-Grandfather Rodney.

Here is a photo recap of your 8th month.
You are starting to feed yourself. You will persistantly chase the food around on your tray.
Papa gave you a cupcake. You had no objections.
Mommy gave you some pudding. More of a mess than anything. But you enjoyed sucking it out of your shirt.

Bath time is still your favorite time of the day.

Nana got you a swing for pretty days outside. You really seemed to enjoy it. Hopefully Spring will come early so you can enjoy it more.

Ripping paper has become one of your favorite things to do.

One of my favorite moments this month was when daddy picked you up from Mrs. Patty's and she had put this bib on you just for your daddy to see. We love Mrs. Patty!

ROLL TIDE!! Game time is in full swing! We have to dress for the occasion.

My little monkey!

Your failed attempt at crawling. AND Mommy's failed attempt to get you to sleep.

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble! A cute outfit Uncle Andy got you. It was only appropriate that he was the one that got you this.
Happy 1st Thanksgiving!

7 Months

7 Months! You are getting SO big. You have finally mastered sitting up on your own. This is big for mommy and daddy because you will sit and play, and play, and play, and play on the floor until it is time to eat or sleep. Your coordination has finally allowed you to really pick up things. You enjoy your rings and I think we have a set of keys stashed in every nook and cranny to play with. You also have learned and mastered turning the pages of your book. Chewing on them is also something you have mastered. You amaze yourself with tiny specks of anything, including dirt.

The downfall of this month was your first ear infection. I was told when you were very small that you may have trouble with these because your tubes seemed so narrow. You cried and whimpered and slept A LOT! My heart hurt for you hurting, but I enjoyed snuggling with you because I know it made you feel better.

Wearing: 6-9 month clothing

Diaper: Size 2 still

Shoe: Size 2 (they grew!)

Riding around with daddy on his day off!

Holy cow! We have a fever!

You and Uncle Steve. This was the first time he "held" you. I know he liked it more than he will ever admit it.

This chair was your great-grandmother Newbill's chair. It fits you perfectly!

Another favorite, playing with the cords to the fan. Daddy has taught you some bad habits already.

You love your books!

Happy 1st Halloween. You were a kitty cat.

Look at you sitting all on your own now. So big.

Going out for a shopping date with mommy & Nana

Every Saturday you spend about 4-5 hours with your great-grandmother Faye. The wonderful woman you were named after. She and great-grandaddy Rodney love you so much. They always call me the day before very excited about your weekly visit.

Every once in a while you will give into sleep rather than play, but this is a very rare picture of you.
Roll Tide! Your cute Alabama fleece with elephant ears & trunk.
Happy Saturday in your walker!

6 Months - Can I Quit Counting Yet? I LOVE this stage you are in!

You have finally settled into your own personality. I would characterize you as very happy and content as long as things are going your way. You are also very extremely strong willed. If you don’t want to do something you arch your back and let it be known that you do not agree. You are a very good sleeper but only on your own terms. Your curiosity amazes me. You want to see everything that is going. I think this is why you like going shopping; to see all of the hustle and bustle around you. When you get excited about something you let out a shrill scream. Most people would dread every time you do it, but your daddy and I love it and encourage it. You are tryinig SO hard to sit up on your own. You almost have it. You sat for a few quick seconds at your well baby check up. Your daddy was so excited for you. You don't take a paci at all anymore and you only suck on your fingers if you are tired or hungry. It makes you very easy to read. Dr. Adams said that I shouldn't worry about you sucking on your fingers until you are about 18 months old, then we will discuss.

Wearing: Starting to out grow the 3-6 month clothes. You are definitely wearing 6-9 month one piece outfits or dresses.

Diaper: Size 2

Shoe: Size 1 (I am beginning to wonder if your feet will ever grow)

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from this month.

Miss Emily took these pictures. She always does such a good job. However, your photo shoots always stress me out!

Roll Tide! PaPa loves this picure of his sweety!

Although on bad conditions, you finally got to meet your cousin Owen. He is just a little older than you are. You were just confused at who was taking your toys.

We said bye-bye to this car seat this month. Your feet were hanging off the edge of it and you were getting too heavy for this mom to tote, so we installed our big girl car seat.
